A New Beginning
A New Beginning6 Months AgoThis would be a life affirming addition to what Writer's Cafe is all about - growing the members into becoming the poets they want to be. Building confidence, experience, and awareness of individual strengths all the while having fun and fellowship and possibly worldwide members and audience. Chris |

Re: A New Beginning6 Months AgoI agree, Chris. I didn't even know it was here, just stumbled upon it. I saw the "Groups" button and clicked it to see what it was, saw another that said,Spoken Word," clicked it, and suddenly saw my face and a bunch of stuff about me, then saw your picture so I knew I wasn't all alone and, and ... for Spoken Word, it sure is quiet in here.

Re: A New Beginning6 Months AgoI agree. I've written to the overlords of WC about needing the ability to make changes in the structure of the group page, like each poet needs a place to store their particular works. A dropdown that when clicked reveals their titles. Another click gives the reader the choice of
1., Pure text they can read as they do now (a page already in existence). 2., A link to a purely audio version, and 3., A link to a video of that particular piece. The audio and video works would need to be stored off-site, otherwise, they would take up too much space on the server, unless WC wants to host them. What do you think? Any ideas? If you think I'm making it too complex, let me know. Maybe you have better ideas. I'm just winging it right now. |

Re: A New Beginning6 Months AgoHey, my brother, we haven't talked in a while. I've been a little out of pocket, but I got some video software and audio, too. Fiddeled around with them some and have a place online to park projects, perhaps. I'm just winging it now. But I don't think the group page is organized the best vay for things to work to be accessable for those who want to see, hear or read the work of members, Amidst this i was and am having eye problems which has been giving me fits. I had cataract surgeery yesterday, and since then my eyes are worse. I used to be able to type by touch, but along the way I had to switch to a much smaller and cheaper one that hass backlit keys I can see in bed at night. I can't type sitting up anymore. It works well, but is difficult for touch typing; I need to pay attention to it visually. And now I find I'm seeing double and triple vision -- and sometimes so blurry I can't see whaat I'm typinnng at all. Pisses me off. Gotta go back to my eye doc again in two weeks. He never said this could happen -- or maybe he did and I wasnms'tt paying enough attention.
It's weird, Chris. I can look at the TV and it looks pretty good, but looking at the monitor while I type is not working well.. There's a lot of blurriness. I'm hoping this will clear up. You will surely see a lot of typoss. What I have been doing lately is not owrrying about them then going bacck, finding them, and completing my work that way. But the blurriness makes that very hard and time consuming. It takes up a lot of time. I;m not doing that with this message so yoou see what I mean. Like I said, it pisses me off. I've been hoping we might get togeteeer to figure out what/how to get our group going. I want to know any ideas you have about it. Thanks, Keith. |
