Re: Howdy!6 Months AgoOkay, It seems this is in response to a message I sent the bosses of this place. Maybe so, unless Chris started it -- and he was here when I got here. But I invited a few friends who might be interested, and if they invite two friends, and, well, you get it.
Here's the way I see it working (If you oppose and have a better, easier way to do this, jump right in): To do this, let it be known. I'm writing this to any and all who have (rational) ideas that will work in a format where members can and will present their work to an audience of The Group and to the world. Material cane be presented three ways: 1. Written - No problem there. 2. Audio - From a simple recording on your smart watch to a studio version courtesy of John Stewart. Your choice. It just has to go down somewhere that will give it an Internet address. We link to them here. 3. Video: Make your own or have someone lay down your latest appearance on Saturday Night Live. Anything in-between will work, too. Again, post the Internet addresses of your work in the appropriate place in our group "Theater." Most of my own work is geared toward performance because that is what I did. So I have already posted a bunch of them as "starters;" none have links yet because I haven't recorded any of them yet. That will come as we all gain the skills needed to add them to our stage. It won't be difficult. And you can help.I would rather have members who want to build something cool and unique that will most likely grow into an international Internet and Social Phenomenon that will make us all rich and famous than ones who just wanna sit around and read their reviews, so ... I hope we each can at post some pieces we know work well in this spoken word format right off the bat. First, we need someone to teach us how to build the pure audio part, the "Spoken Word" of the site. Later, we add the "Video Word" portion of the site. Talk to your fellow writers and stir the pot. Post some work. Spread the word. Find people with the technical skills we need. Promise them free admission for life for their help. Then we can all sit around and spit at each other or throw popcorn, whatever's appropriate, and get rich and famous. Or maybe just have a good time -- and do something very, very cool. so let's goooooooo ... |
