Eva lay in the hospital bed staring at the celling. The machine beside her bed beeped and showed a rising and falling red line. The nurse came in and checked the machine. “You’re going strong” she said a tad too warmly like Eva didn’t know she was dying. Eva said nothing just stared at the celling. The nurse injected pain killer into the tube in her arm and tugged her blanket in around her. “This is a new drug” the nurse said “So you might feel slightly different”. “Ok” Eva said. “Is there anything you need?” the nurse asked, stepping away from the bed. A new life Eva thought coldly, but said “Nothing”. When the nurse left Eva felt the effects start to kick in and the room swam. She closed her eyes to stop the spinning and when she opened her eyes again and nearly screamed. Standing a short distance away from the bed was a boy who had definitely not been there before. He was standing with his back to the room looking out the window. “Who are you?” whispered Eva. She didn’t know why she was whispering but she had a feeling that if a nurses came they would make the boy leave and she didn’t want that. The boy turned. Eva gasped when she saw his face. He was the most beautiful creature she had ever seen. “Hello Eva” the boy said, his voice rich and soft “My name is Isis”. Isis moved closer to the bed and placed a hand on Eva’s head. His touch was deliciously warm and barely there, like sunlight. “Rise Eva” He said, like a command. Eva felt strength flood her body, felt the tubes fall away as she rose. Isis took Eva’s hand in his own.

Eva, Very warm and original. Kind of reminds me of a medical Twilight saga?
