The Mask
The Mask11 Years AgoThe mask slips on so easily, as if it were glued on over time. You can always become someone else. Just make a deal with the devil; Pay a fine. The mask, it's so beautiful, so enchanting and deceiving. You see what you want to see, and seeing is believing. I must be blind. The mask... it fits! I open my eyes. The audience is waiting, and up the curtain flies. The show must go on. It slips off my face. I feel so naked, so vulnerable, the mask no longer in place I slip it back on; The mask is a part of me. The show is now over, but here comes the tragedy. Identity is lost. |
