A Stream Of Consciousness Forum Stream of Consciousness

I am new to this group and new to this community of writers.

I read the past forum postings and I believe the point of this group is to let the thoughts flow about anything and everything that comes to mind.  Let thoughts flow from inside the mind to the outside world in the form of words; ignoring grammar, editing and the like, possibly to be interpreted in a different way than intended.  The only thing that matters is that the flow continues so that the GREAT thoughts might someday make it to the rest of the world.

I don't have any poetry or novels or essays to offer, but I have always found that writing helps me to understand what I am feeling.  Writing what I am thinking forces me to identify the truth.  I can write my thoughts more easily than I can express them verbally.

I thank you, Eagle, for inviting me to join this group.  I hesitate to join the Dead Poet's Society...as I stated, I am not a poet.

This will be my first post to a group here on Writers Cafe.  I am very happy that I stumbled onto this site.

I understand that there are next to no rules in this group except write (and I imagine be a bit polite).

So I thought I would say hello. 

Moving monstrosities morally magnificently making magic...making more. Mincing minuettes in margins mucking merriment.   MMmmmmmmmmm

Yeah. 

So, I've been writing for longer than I haven't...unless of course, you count all the times that I set writing on the back shelf because life happened.  I suppose its fortunate for myself that it will only allow itself to be forgotten and dusty before it jumps back down and starts beaning me in the head, then of course, all the dreams get squirrley and I get irritable from lack of restful sleep and in self defense I lay hands on the handiest pen and write or type. 

If I wrote everything I dreamt it would be a scary process.  I wonder sometimes - Does anyone else see a library sometimes in dreams?  Its behind a large old wooden door, up in the attic, but its not always there.  Sometimes there's other things up there...not so nice.  Maybe not as dusty but definitely not as nice. 

I'm hoping that I won't be the only dork here.  :-) 

Hey, I'm a happy dork though.  So the touched newbie is waving hello.  Anybody wanna come and play?

Deirdre,

You have contributed another great piece to the forum.

I think everyone that has written has done the same thing,

pretty much, said what they were thinking ----letting the tail

go with the dog.
