I've got 2 beautiful girls. One is almost 10, mentally retarded and autistic and the other is almost 2 and, so far, NT(what us autism parents refer to as "Neuro-typical" or "normal") I've seen and experienced things that would make June Cleaver suffer convulsions. Anybody have any questions? I might know the answer...

Kids...Four !!!
Three girls....one will be a Sophmore in College...the next is a High School Senior,
and one will be a high School Sophmore,
They are beautiful... I love them...I am proud of them...I can't stand them.
I admire them...they make me sick.....I want to hold them forever...I can't wait till school starts....

One boy will start mMiddle School this year.
He is wonderful.....he is rotten.....he is sweet ...he is cocky
he is brilliant....he's got no sense...

All said and done ....I am in the process of trying my best to work myself out of a job.. to show them how to increase and make good choices...that other people matter...how to be humble yet confidant...to be driven yet content....to learn to truly live life....embrace it ...to love....to allow themselves to be loved ...
that parameters are tools not road blocks
Above all other things....to remaion in awe of God and trust him way more than me....or themselves

I live in testosterone city. Three boys. I lost my husband five years ago so I'm doing double duty as Mom and Dad. They are my heart. Ages 18 (as of 6/24), 14 (as of 6/20) and soon to be 9. Funny, smart, talented (the oldest plays drums in a band), all three think they're MY father at times. My oldest will be a senior when school starts. He should be on his way to college, but he hit a road block in 9th grade; he liked it so much he had to do it twice, don't ya know ;-). My middle son will start high school and my youngest is going to the 4th. Helping with homework is dizzying to say the least. One minute I'm doing basic multiplication and vocabulary building and the next I'm doing friggin physics and wondering what a dangling participle is. (and reminding them they should never end a sentence with a preposition)

I try to keep the lines of communication open with all three. But, of course there are things they will tell only to their friends. The only horror story I have so far is when my oldest told me he needed condoms. Oh the horror~~! The mom in me cried out for my "baby" and said no, but the dad in me drove to the store and got the condoms. Crying all the way.
