What are things that make or break a relationship? What are the secrets you have for keeping your relationship going?

I have been married for 19 years and my secret for keeping my relationship going is love and laughter. My husband and I have have gotten in some really stupid arguments, most of the time we argue because he always wants to be right and never wants to hear my point of view and that pisses me off till no end. So this one time we were really getting into it screaming the whole works and I called him " BOB ", that stopped him right in his tracks, who the hell is BOB he asked me, I told him he was the most ignorant person I ever met and he was acting just like him, well he busted up laughing and the fight was over.. The next time we argued He called me " Tracy" I asked him why he called me Tracy and he said she was the biggest b***h he ever met and I was acting just like her I started laughing and that fight was over... BOB and TRACY are our alter egos so when we get into a fight it's really them who are fighting not us and who could be mad after that... We have never gone to bed mad at one another either. We always start each day with a clean slate.

Communication and Compromise are also a big part of our relationship....My husband and I made promises to each other before we got married and so far they are working out great. Neither one of us believe in divorce, marriage to us is forever, no matter what problems come our way we work them out together, so it is up to us to make our relationship work.

Ohhh and keeping the sex life nice and spicy always helps try new things, experiment with each other it's fun try it.....( giggle )

Now onto breaking the relationship.... " TRUST " is huge, break the trust and there is no relationship, any kind of Abuse, no more relationship no matter what promises were made my husband knows that if he breaks those its over between us period and thats all I really have to say about that.....

I agree...honesty can be a b***h. I would say lack of trust. Also pride...that is deal breaker there.
