I decided this will be my Nanowrimo. heres what i've come up with:

Ive been inspired to write this because of the song "Because of you" by reba and Kelly. here's a plot twist and another idea that i just wrote down.

Lydia's husband blames her for letting her sister die. He was madly in love with her, and knew about the baby, but refused to Lydia when her sister insisted he tell her.

Plot twist: The baby that her sister is carrying in her husband's baby. Lydia suspected the affair, but could never prove it. As her sister took her last few breaths, she admits to the affair she had with Lydia's husband. She also admits that he is the father of the baby as well. Out of all that, Lydia finds that she has no choice but to stay married to her cheating husband, and take care of a b*****d child, who is also her niece and her step daughter. Her husband becomes more demanding and abusive after Lydia's sister's death, and refuses to dicipline his daughter, feeling obligated to giver her anything she wants to make up for the death of her mother. Lydia thus becomes an outcast not only in her own home but in the neighborhood they live in and in society. To add to the dilemna, she begins to be haunted by the ghost of her sister, long dead several years, making her seem like she's going crazy. She does a good job of convincing the psychitrists of her sanity still be intact, thus keeping her out of the mental institution, where she knows her husband and Niece/stepdaughter really want her to be in. Throughout her life she tries to keep her head held high. Then they hire a new maid, after she fired the old one for evesdropping on a conversation she had with no one that could be seen. Several years go by, but she learns that the new maid soon became the new catch for her husband and was now pregnant. Angered by the betrayal, she releases the girl, in the middle of the night while everyone is asleep, so that noone can stop her from doing it at all. she begins to push everyone she ever loved out of the picture, and living with her husband has become unbearable. In her final days, which is how I think the book should end, she takes an overdose of opium, and allows herself to fall asleep... forever (have to research and see if opium cna do that, and if it was a popular drug back in the Victoian Era/

That's basically the plot twist i want to go with. The MAIN plot twist. I've also wrote up most of her current background by default and think that i can manage to write up the rest of her background. Past and future included. I still need to to work up names and ideas for the characters. That's about all i can think of for the moment.
