*trapped* money issues?
*trapped* money issues?15 Years AgoOk, I am only sixteen, I have my whole life to get published true. I have been reading and looking for publishing companies since 14. I never really sent anything, well once at 14, but I really wouldn't call it a publishing company. My problem is I don't have money, which holds us back because it is hard to find a company that doesn't want up front payments for something. I believe I have the talent and yeah like usually most things you need investments, I myself have never been turned down by anything, which is a shock, though I have only sent thing to two places other than the one I talked about above.
I was accepted into a writing school for children kidnergarden to high-school, but had to turn it down(plus I got it huge trouble for giving out my adress, though I read very carefully)) I got in, but it was like $30 a week, which my family couldn't afford and I had to turn the offer down, I didn't even apply for that, what I applied for was an online schooling program, but I was to young.
The other was a modeling agency, which I only did to make my grandmother happy, but again money.
So does anyone have away to get published whether it be novel, short story or poem, without having to pay?

Re: *trapped* money issues?15 Years AgoCheck out: a place for High School students to upload work. It's listed in the Novel & Short Story Writer's Market for 2011. It looks like a pretty good site. Click on "Submit" to check out the guidelines. Good luck!
I was just thinking, someone else might be able to tell you for sure, but you might be able to submit your work to Literary Reviews, Literary Magazines, and the like. I don't think there is an age requirement, and a lot of them don't ask for money. You'll find a good sized list of them in the Writer's Market books as well. I suppose you can find the book at the library, if need be. I hope this helps. Suesea |

Re: *trapped* money issues?15 Years AgoI know this thread's probably dead by now, but I would be wary of any company/literary journal/whatever that asks for money unless they are either a vanity press or some form of self-publishing company. Except in those two cases, the money should flow to the writer :)
