The Versenators Forum Versenators' Challenge # 12

The new challenge is photo related. This is the second time I post a challenge of this nature, and it seems that picture themes generate great responses as authors have a keen eye for photography, I believe. I hope this photograph inspires splendid writing on your part.



Please alert other Versenators to your entry by posting a link to your poem in the Versenators forum. Simply copy and paste the address to the page in a reply to the Versenators' Challenge # 12 thread. You can always send me a message or an invite to read your piece, but posting in the forum will also make it available for everyone to read and review. I will answer any questions you have for me, so please don't hesitate.

Please remember that challenges don't have a deadline. Therefore, you can answer any challenge at any time for as long as you submit newly written pieces, ones you write particularly in response to the challenge.

Your protective arms embrace a body who is not quite the one you wish to see: Can't you grasp I love you, but don't need you to be the person I'm supposed to be? You cast safety's shadow 'round my being, granting time to ponder who I am. All the while my dreams are kept from freeing. My heart, my soul are with'ring in the sham. You profess your love in word and action, at least in actions you feel apropo. You must think that I've such satisfaction; yet, all the while, I'm hoping you'll let go. Please take off the blinders and just see me. Allow me room to fly and just to be.
