The Writers' Coffeehouse Forum Not a story - a conversation, ..

Hey everybody! My name is Chris and I am in southern California. I like that everyone is introducing themselves, but we are all just saying "Hi!"
What should we REALLY talk about?
Personally, I am very new to writing and would like to hear from anyone who has published work on how they started. Also, what are some good methods for novel writing?
I haven't written anything beyond the beginnings of a couple of sci-fi stories, but the idea of being able to create anything I can think of entices me. I try to write everyday, but silly life keeps hogging all my attention!

Mine occupies all my attention, too! What have your stories been about?

Hi, I'm Brianna and I'm from Georgia. I'm new here and have no idea what I'm doing (except for the writing part. I can do that. lol). I've heard of Portland, Oregon, but I don't know of any other Portlands--of course I passed Geography by the skin of my teeth in high school. So, how's everyone doing?

Hello all!  I'm Heidi, and I'm from all over, but Oregon, Minnesota, and parts of England are important to me.

I'm here to publish an Aladdin fan novel-in-progress, called "A Tale of Two Sorcerors".  I'm splitting it into a series of "books", the first of which is "The Coup".  I'm currently 8 chapters in, 4 of which I've posted on this website. 

When that's done, it will probably be a Doctor Who fanfic I work on next.  I'm not a career writer, and I don't want to be, but I'm hella passionate about perfecting my work.
