How do you feel about writing?

I's one of the hardest thing I find to express in writing but on my CWTP course wrote this, which comes close.

The Little Duckling
Where it came from,
I don’t remember,
It just appeared.

Small and yellow,
With fluffy downy feathers.
I heard it before I saw it.

A distant cheeping,
That called me to it.

It was lost,
Behind the garage,
Where I used to hide,
Sometimes.

Poor little motherless, chick.

I rushed inside.
We found a box, filled it with newspaper.
Fed it chunks of bread,
Ripped from the loaf,
And dipped in milk,
To make it softer.

We put the box on the boiler,
To keep it warm,
To nurture it,
And bring it back to life.

It didn’t make it through the night.

In the morning,
We cried,
And mourned,
And buried.

I wrote a story,
A tale of adventure,
Of woodland friends,
A meandering stream,
Dangers, excitement, survival,

A story of finding your way back.
I’d typed up the story.
Lost years ago.

But I will carry it with me, always.
