The fallen Forum depression

So I have a friend who has severe clinical depression, and he doesn't seem to have many friends he keeps telling me that I'm the only person who still wants him around which I don't believe because he runs a depression help website and there are a lot of people around the world who are alive just because of him but he's convinced no one cares and he keeps asking me if he's allowed to die yet and I keep telling him no he needs to live because things can get better and he's now reduced every argument I have to the fact that he promised me he'd never kill himself therefore he can't. Can you guys help me maybe I need to make him feel better because no one deserves to feel like nothing and he beats himself up every time someone on his website dies and iI don't know what to do for him I just want him to be happy
