Want Some Reviews? Forum Hello

Checked out some work on this site, gave the reviews - no reciprocity.  No biggie, but I finished this fiction novel a while back, sent in the query letters to the agents, and have received the same basic response.  "Like your style, sure you'll do your genre well, not what we're looking for."  That's why I'm looking for reviews from actual readers (you guys).  How many times have you heard from a movie critic that a particular movie was bad, only to go and see it for yourself and find it pretty good?  Because of their job, agents and publishers lose touch with real readers.  They can't enjoy books because they HAVE to read them.  Twelve publishers passed on Harry Potter.  So folks, do me a favor and say if I should shelve this thing or keep trying to get it published.  BTW, I WILL return the favor...
