Fantasy/Sci-Fi book of an enti..
Fantasy/Sci-Fi book of an entirely different nature in need of reviews!12 Years AgoThe name of the book is called Seventh Rising, it is the first book of the Oroboros series I've been diligently writing for over half of my life, which is going on a about 14 years of work now, without any end in sight. I can honestly guarantee that you haven't read anything like it before. It's not about vampires and werewolves. It's not about deep space battles. It's about the fate of humanity in an otherwordly setting where magic contrasts sharply with the technological states of a war weary world. The cycle of desctruction and creation necessary for change and the planet's growth resides in the continual rebirth of a Dragonsoul, who is reborn every 1,000 years or so to fufill the prophecy: To cleanse the world by fire and burn out the corruptions that plague mankind. There are Gods, demons, mythical beings, genetically engineered beings, magic, the Yggdrasil: the Tree of Life that is connected to the world's fate. There are corporte corruptions, military tyrany, rebel resistences, even a revolutionary band of outcast musicians that help set the stage. It all forms this crazy world I've created, and for as much as I've written I'm sorry I can't come up with a better synopsis. It is currently unedited, I cannot afford an editor at the time. But I need to know that it is worth my while, and I need reviews to see what needs to be worked on, and I need input of the overall story first and foremost. There will be gramatical errors and mistakes, but that hasn't stopped anyone in my personal life from reading it thusfar. It's a long read, roughly 800-900 pages long, and it's surprised me how quickly some of my family and friends have flown through it. (They are now demanding the second book, which I'm trying to perfect it's final stages, but it's hard getting the first one out of the door.) So if you enjoy reviewing books, or just enjoy something new to read as a change of pace, I encourage that you take a look, and see if it grabs your interest. If not, tell me so and I will try harder. If you find that you love it, but believe it needs work, I'd greatly appreaciate your thoughts. Constructive criticism is always appreciated! |
