Excerpt from: "The Poetry of Kings: Wives & Consorts"

10 Years Ago

Anyways I started this thread to help to better promote my work. It's called "The Poetry of Kings: Wives & Cosorts" and it combines poetry with storytelling and a whole lot of greatness:

Sample:(ghazal poem)

Solomon’s Verses: The Inferno

A fire burns against the Nile

And guts the sky tonight.

The inferno rages from dusk till dawn,

Water quenches not this firestorm

Or calms the clashing of lovers’ loins—

In my bed tonight.

The sacred bird of Egypt: Bennu; phoenix,

Fiercely flying soars tonight.

The flames engulf the silent kings of the valley;

Sounding calls and spawning fires tonight.

Passion builds and flames burn bright,

Lust will reign tonight.

Giza’s idols burned to ash;

None in sorrow as fires lash tonight.

Lovers’ embers scorch the sands;

Bringing life to barren lands. Luxor burns tonight!

Fire rains from passion’s sky

Searing hearts and raiding thighs—tonight.
