[no subject]19 Years Agowell my favorite author of all time is Robert A Heinlein, damn what an imagination on that guy. I started out reading Starship Troopers, which is way better than the movie by the way. From there I told my friend I was looking for something else to read by him, and he lent me " the cat who walks through walls" which really doesnt have much to do about the cat until close to the end. I cant believe he invisioned all the stuff he did , way back when he was still writing. I read that he had an interesting method of plotting out his stories/ characters, by putting it on the wall on a big piece of paper of erase board , something like that. But I have started to do the same , at least until my dry erase board got ruined.
All right that's my random thoughts on this subject right now |

I have been reading her work for at least two years, going on three. I like the way she keeps her writing as a unique way that people actually speak. Keeping the dialogue to the tee. The creativity is so fun, just like the rye humor she gives her charactors. |

[no subject]19 Years AgoHmm I haven't read enough different authors to have a "favourite", but I guess I've read a lot of John Marsden and Isobelle Carmody (they're Australian authors). I'm enjoying "The Bell Jar" by Sylvia Plath at the moment. I tend to get sucked into psychological stuff, where there's a main character that is suffering a mental illness - "Girl, Interrupted" by Susanna Kaysen and "I Never Promised You a Rose Garden" by Hannah Green (Joanne Greenburg) are great novels :)

[no subject]19 Years AgoOh dear... I have lots of favorite writers... but only one per genre... I think.
My favorite poet is Charles Bukowski... hands down, he wins..always and forever. If I had to pick my top favorite out of all genres it would be Bukowski. My favorite CNR writer is David Sedaris (as if that wasn't expected) My favorite prose poet is Alison Townsend (She's amazing, check out her first book, The Blue Dress) My favorite fantasy writer is Robert Asprin and has been for the past ten or so years. |

[no subject]19 Years AgoMy favorites would have to be, Terry Goodkind, Laurell K. Hamilton (only her earlier anita blake books), Garth Nix, Guy Gavriel Kay... the list goes on. I think what I truly love about all those author's writing are their different styles and their characters. Guy Gavriel Kay writes the most descriptive books, but they are fantastic!

[no subject]19 Years AgoI think my favorite authoress is Nora Roberts. Everyone gives a lot of flack for reading so-called "smut" books. What they don't know is she is a more skilled author than I can hope to achieve. I really look up to her. And she can write outside her genre, which is difficult for a lot of people. She also writes as J.D. Robb.
My favorite author is probably Dennis L. McKiernan. I just love his worlds and their intricacies. |
