It would be interesting to know:

Are you more likely to buy a book based on the plot, caring less what genre it is or a book based on the genre, caring less about the plot?

If I know nothing about the author or the plot, I'm more likely to gravitate towards certain genres.

I tend to follow authors, and any contemporaries they suggest.
