breathe through your mouth
just
keep
breathing
hesitation will bring back relativity
and the unwelcome return of gravity
it will leave you spinning
until your stomach climbs through your mouth
spilling a puddle of empty consonants
and useless complaints
live how you want
just
keep
surviving
any consequences will be placed solely on the shoulders
of whatever god was supposed to be listening
when you were screaming until your throat bled
begging for the courage enough
to cut yourself from the screenplay
find the pattern
just
keep
looking
it’s on the tip of your tongue
right in front of your third eye
the prism reflected is a diversion, not the prize
so don’t dissolve
when it melts into your hand
and disappears
reach for it no matter what the cost
not even regret is worse
than anticipation
sleep if you want
just
keep
dreaming
everything is both tangible and attainable
if you focus on your own golden apple
and refuse to get distracted by Damocles
and his possibility dangling overhead
razor sharp in its false ambition
white hot with its apathy
smolder if you can
just
keep
burning
the worst that can happen is that you will remain an ember
a ghost cycling through this afterlife
regretting nothing
singing loudly
calling out the stars and the sky by their true name
knowing that they wouldn’t dare approach you
they are tamed
by the color you will sing
