facade

i hate that you have such a good 

facade

that your image is

pristine

clean

and perfect

i hate that everyone 

loves

the facade you put on

if only they knew the

real 

you

if only they knew

all the 

pain 

you've caused me

i wish i could

tear your facade off

destroy your shiny reputation

expose you for who you really are

but no one will believe me 

when i show them who you really are

they'll think all i want is

attention

or this is just common mother-daughter banter

they won't understand

so i sit here

with the tears and no food in my stomach

wishing your facade was weak

That!s the beauty of poetry. It gives you an outlet to express your true feelings. Perhaps those you wouldn’t express openly in public. Navigating life for anyone these days isn’t going to be a bed of roses but throw in a whole load of hormones and it gets worse. There were times when I was a teenager, I disliked my mum, I wish sge was back with me now. Miss her wisdom. You have expressed your emotions well here.
