now it's worse

asleep for five hours

and this is what i get

its long

and deep

and ugly

i'm ugly

look

in the mirror

who do i see?

that's not me

i can't be that creature

revealing her form

is this who i am now?

is this what i am?

was this always hiding under the surface

just waiting to arise

maybe if i'm doused in water

or the night turns to day

my horrid appearance will go away

and maybe this long mark

plastered on my skin

will leave with the monster inside
