at my grave

at my grave

A Poem by Sunflower

who will sit the longest at my grave after i'm gone
who will lay a lily on the ground

as my body rots and my presence fades
who will sense me the longest
who will hear my voice and see my face in their dreams

someday i will be absorbed back into the earth
my existence nothing but a distant memory
whispered in passing by the wind

but when the sun explodes
and the world grows cold
who will remember my name
and who will live the longest at my grave

How sad your words are. I pondered on them for some time. No grave for me, I wish to be scattered in the wind, to go wherever the breeze takes me. However, I hope to remain in the memories of those who loved me. ( not too often though). A beautiful poem Sunflower. Thank you for sharing. Happy new year to you.
