A Poem by Sunflower

the night falls on the blossomed sunflower
the cold of darkness envelops her

still beaten down
she waits for the coming of the sun

let mother earth take her back
absorb her back into your roots

oh dawn, return for this sunflower
give her the peace she deserves
free her soul from the prison of the dark

her escape is nigh
the key in her shaky palm

oh Lord, free her from this cage
let her turn that key
let her stumble back into the light

armed with her truth
holding the key
but the lock gets further away

will this sunflower ever
be free of the shackles
of the darkness
will the sun rise for her
and will she ever return
to the happiness of the light

Grow to the light my Sunflower.

It's almost like a self-addicting prophecy. Oh the sun, it grows the flowers, until it starts everything on fire.
