A Dumb Idea

A string of dumb ideas leads to a long overdue reunion.

"It was a dumb idea to go back to this place." Looking around at all the buildings, it was jarring to see. Aero sighed as he took in the sights.
"It's never been more lively." A calm voice nearly made Aero jump but the sound of the voice was familiar. Maybe it was nerves, maybe it just slipped out regardless Aero made the air tense. "Gogh! I missed you.." His voice dying down as he realized what he said, his brain moving a mile a minute basically writing his own obituary.

Gogh fakes a cough to fill the air, "So what brings you down here?" Aero shrugs, giving a look of 'I really don't know'. Gogh sighs and sits down on a nearby tree root poking out from the ground. 
They sit in each other's silence. Not saying a word like they have lost the ability to talk entirely. 
It'd must have been a while since they were there since Aero could hear a quiet snore coming from his former companion. "Should I wake him?" Aero considers his options before their friend Pina came over, "Wake up sleepy heads!" Gogh yawns and waves to greet his friend, who looked to be radiating with glee. 

"Hey Aero! Long time no see!", Pina puts their hand on his shoulder. "It's been a while since you've come to visit. Oh, I can't wait to tell the others!" Aero nods in acknowledgement, having already known what Pina was planning. Gogh on the other hand was still a little hazy from his little nap, he'd be in high spirits soon. 
Pina had brought the two to a spot unfamiliar to Aero. "What is this place?", Aero asked to which Pina pointed at the sign that read. 

'Dynamo Bar
Hours: 12pm - 1am 
Closed on Wednesdays'

"Today's Wednesday. How long have you been planning this?", Aero looked at Pina with a concerned look. "Oh you know.. Maybe it was fate! Luck is on our side tonight.", Pina replied smugly. 
Aero sighed, Was he really prepared to see his friends after so long?

Author's Note

This is something I started over the summer. It's become a huge project for school so I felt like sharing it somewhere.
There might be mistakes! This project is still getting updated and edited!

This gives an interesting insight into the characters at play.

It’s sharp, detailed and eventful in a good way. It’s taking me to places full of emotion and progression in terms of the reunion.

I really enjoyed this piece.
