dark ribbons of rain

hang over the bay -- clouds of

billowing white smudged

with gray -- shafts of sliding sun

bathe green hills 'cross the valley

Wow... this is a beautiful poem. The word choice is precise and the imagery is so vivid I can see what you are viewing. There is also so much metaphor in this: darkness hanging over one's head, thoughts like clouds smudged with gray, but hope creeping through nonetheless... at least that's how I see it. Beautiful poem!
