An Ode to Going to Work for the Government

If the NSA reads this, they can call me for a very candid citizen's opinion (based on observation and actual experience) on the bigotry, sexism and rampant stupidity I experienced.

 

     I see the elephant --

     doesn't anybody else?

     I know the emperor is naked --

     doesn't anybody else?

     Why does everybody sound alike?

     Why can't the truth be spoken?

     I see the elephant --

     and the elephant is laughing.

Thank you for reading. The experience I had as a DOD contractor changed me forever, and it broke my heart. I grew a Navy brat, and I was as indoctrinated as one could be. But as the saying goes, "the scales fell from my eyes" and what I saw was beyond shocking, beyond disappointing. I am forever changed.
