One Cold Bone Road

One Cold Bone Road

A Poem by Edwina
"

a friend in need

"
Lying in his casket
and Christmas time is near
the coffin table fits him well
the one he built last year

He has no need for contact
with people he distains
His body aches from bone to bone
a cold heart still remains

There comes a scratch upon the door
a lost dog begs a friend
Quote the raven never more
the story has no end

Cold bone road and second street
the intersection hell
Wash your hair and feed the dog
he has a tale to tell

A talking dog and a lonely man
enjoy a raging fire
the casket waits with pillow fluffed
and in mischief they conspire

Chills. The portrait of death and humor. Duh, I'm not confused.

I live in the desert, and write. I had been doing poetry, but recently decided to write a novel. It gives me a whole new place to hang out, so to speak. more..
