Autumn's SilenceA Story by Faust
Silence. That is all I hear. No noise. Just the sound of the autumn leaves blowing in the wind. The sound of geese flying overhead. The sound of the wispering wind. It is peacefull. It is quiet. It is calming. The air smells like pumpkin pie, the sky is a light pink soon to be dark blue lit up only by the stars overhead. The grass is littered with the leaves that the trees shed preparing for the harsh winter. There is a slight chill that brings goosenumps to my skin. The trees are painted with vibrant colors of late autumn. Reds, oranges, purples, yellows. Even though it is the end of life for these leaves, there is nothing more beautiful. I walk along the quiet road, I walk past the houses with there lights all dimmed. I walk past the vibrant treees and clutter of leaves. This is where I want to stay. Just here watching the leaves slowly make their way to the ground below. There is no cold, no heat, no noise. Just the silence of a sleeping neighborhood.
