The silence disease

The silence disease

A Poem by LH Weiss
"

One of those first-letter-of-every-line poems

"

Let me be clear, for i don’t want you worrying about me or my family.

Everyone is happy in this home. everything is well.

Unless you count her illness. the one nobody knows how to talk about.

Knitting a conversation while avoiding the elephant in the room is what i’m good at.

Every word ducks around the one i want to say the most.

My sister is stuck in her bed. she cannot walk or see.

I cry for her lost opportunities. she should be in college right now.

Any day, i’ll wake up and she will have been well this whole time.

About
Hi, I’m LH. I pretty much only post chapters of my books (aside from a few rando pieces I might do here and there). I am an appreciator of poetry, or most any forms of writing, for that matter. .. more..
