Wish I Could Have Stayed

Wish I Could Have Stayed

A Poem by Kasey Miriam
"

I love states south of Ohio and I wish I could just not come home from one of our family trips.

"
Picture perfect scenery every where I look.
Country music and mountain roads.
Crystal clear water falling over smoothen rocks.
Candy the old fashion way homeday each day.
Drinking from mason jars anywhere in town.
Sipping sweet tea and eating the best fried chicken.
Down home southern hospitality and dialect that can't be beat.
I'd move in a second, oh if only I could have stayed.
But here I am back at home where the people are rude.
Where sweet tea is hard to find and the people move too fast.
Counrty culture is contry wide, but much less prominent here.
Even spending my life at the famliy farm,
completely different from the home I felt,
down in Tennessee.

i spent a very pleasant vacation one year meandering the backroads of kentucky and tennessee. i think i would have been happy to have stayed there too. i grew up in the hustle and bustle of chicago, but have spent my adult years in a small town in wisconsin. it's amazing the difference. i could never go back to city life again. your writing was a very nice relaxing visit to those quiet hills of the south.

Thank you for reading!
Your images strike up the senses for another taste of living in the country; mountain roads, the music all the way down to the little things such as mason jars. Beautiful...
I am reminded of my home on the island of O'ahu where life is embraced with such passion and love.
Just a suggestion: you may want to check your spelling: famliy to family; not unless it has purposeful meaning to you :-)
Thank you for sharing your heart.
