Wish I Could Have Stayed

Wish I Could Have Stayed

A Poem by Kasey Miriam
"

I love states south of Ohio and I wish I could just not come home from one of our family trips.

"
Picture perfect scenery every where I look.
Country music and mountain roads.
Crystal clear water falling over smoothen rocks.
Candy the old fashion way homeday each day.
Drinking from mason jars anywhere in town.
Sipping sweet tea and eating the best fried chicken.
Down home southern hospitality and dialect that can't be beat.
I'd move in a second, oh if only I could have stayed.
But here I am back at home where the people are rude.
Where sweet tea is hard to find and the people move too fast.
Counrty culture is contry wide, but much less prominent here.
Even spending my life at the famliy farm,
completely different from the home I felt,
down in Tennessee.

i spent a very pleasant vacation one year meandering the backroads of kentucky and tennessee. i think i would have been happy to have stayed there too. i grew up in the hustle and bustle of chicago, but have spent my adult years in a small town in wisconsin. it's amazing the difference. i could never go back to city life again. your writing was a very nice relaxing visit to those quiet hills of the south.

Thank you for reading my dear!
Tennessee is awesome :) and the south is a nice place to be but to me the heat is almost unbareable! That's just me though! Enough about me and back to this poem which is a great tribute to a desired location and very heartfelt! 8.9/10

You're always welcome my dear
I would love to live in a small town and enjoy the simple life, cause the little things bring the greatest happiness.

You are most welcome.
i can relate to this very well...the old days for me, the summers spent in my favorite state, Vermont...
i wanted to stay there forever..if not for the winters, i would be moving there and doing exactly that.

i have gone back, 40 years later...and am hoping to get back there soon.

this poem made me homesick for what has always been home in my heart.

Hey, Kasey .. glad to read your work again. Umm, you know what? This beautiful write reminds me a time when I arrived to a place, Umm probably 2-3 years ago, for an exam and reached there in an early morning ..Umm...yeah, I still remember ..what the time was ..it was 04:22 A.M when I pulled out my phone & saw the time in it .. in the closing minutes, the bus reached the bus stand & I packed my bags ..worn warm jacket & left for the exam place ... but before It ..I drunk a warmed tea standing nearby a little town shop .. it was a morning time, the foggy days, cold waves touched my sexy hair & my hot face .. I closed my eyes ..took a long cold breathe inhaling the aroma of that place what the cold winds bring at that time. I enjoyed a cup of warmed tea & headed to the exam & in between .. the distance (journey) from that shop to my exam place .. I`d seen & felt the real beauty what you`ve well expressed here via words ..through this beautiful write .. me too have watched water over the rocks... seen biker biking (Mountain biking, cycling) .. people in the morning taking walks .. green leaves ... the sun min. by min. heading up in the sky .. time was slipping through the hands sec. by sec. ... and much more ... and within half an hour or an hour, I approached the college gate (of that place where I wanted to reach) and as the exam finished .. I arrived back to my home by bus & Umm, it was, I think, 12:30 P.M to 1:00 A.M when I reached back at my home.

~ Ah ~ Sigh ~

Lovely ~~ Kasey, you really reminded me my that time what I`d probably forgotten or washed away from my sexy creative mind indeed. So, yeah .. thanks, Kasey .. thanks for writing this poem & sharing it with others .. this write`s really very special to me because it reminded me the old days & I`m still feeling so refreshing reading this write & poignant to remind that old time. You`ve well expressed here your life`s few moments via words .. i`ll keep your this write & my this comment & your reply (you`d give on this comment) saved in my folder for long :)

Beautiful write, Kasey. It`s an excellent job! ;)
