A Poem by Kasey Miriam
"

I was hit with this like a brick while my children and I danced polka with my 100 year old great uncle as I realized this is the closest thing to their great grandpa they could possibly know.

"
You were hot coffee and doughnuts
Hard work and early mornings
Late nights and ball games
Deep conversations and curiosity
A constant
Dependable
Force of nature
Until suddenly you weren't
First I grieved who you were
Now I just grieve you
How much life I have to live without you
The family that will never meet you
The absolute terror that slowly I'll forget
Your voice is gone already
