I wish it worked out but it was what you did.

I guess you never did care

You know that it isn’t fair

But you went and did it anyway

So I think of it every day

The pain I went through

The things I wish you didn’t do

I guess it wasn’t meant to be

You weren’t right for me

You lied

And I cried

But it has made me stronger

To know I live in pain no longer

Sometimes I wish it worked out

That I gave you the benefit of the doubt

But then I would have been wronging myself

And destroying my mental health

So I lost what I had

But in a way I’m glad

Because I’m getting better

Now that we aren’t together

 

Author's Note

This can relate to many things. For some it would be a person they liked but for me it was a friend (well, friends) that I had that didn't treat me well but I wish they did. I tend to have lots of friendship troubles.

Wow this is really good. i love the way it flows, i can relate to it. at least you can are getting better from not being together without the other person. i on the other hand is having a hard time. eh
