To KeatsA Poem by Aianarie (INACTIVE)One of two tribute poems I wrote for my favorite poet, John Keats. To sing softly lullabies of nature And the inmost thoughts of humanly care That molds and fashions every soul's stature. To mask dark, clandestine malignity Beneath words that fall in place like snowflakes With calm, sweet, submissive benignity Like the sun reflecting in murky lakes. To discover truths previously unknown And float them on a midsummer night's breeze Surely all along, we knew what had flown So we follow them as they fly o'er seas. To be like Keats, who wisely understands What is inscribed into time with our hands. © 2011 Aianarie (INACTIVE) |
