THINKING IT WAS YESTERDAY

STARTING OVER

I woke up this morning
Thinking it was yesterday.
For when I said I loved you,
I thought that you would stay.

 

A wisp of your perfume
Still permeates the air.
Then when I look for you,
I find that your not there.

 

Like the lava in a lava lamp
Dancing slowly through your mind
Always changing your direction.
Wonder what your trying to find?

 

Thought I may have been the one 
That your love you'd like to share 
But when I got to close to you 
I fell right through your lair

 

Today is not tomorrow 
But it's soon to be yesterday.
All I have then is your menory
As I watch you walk away.

 

I shall remember always, 
Your hair of darken red.
And the heat of our passion 
Making love upon my bed.

 

Yes kisses that we shared 
The ardor of your embrace
The love I really felt for you 
As my fingers traced your face

 

No longer can I live in yesterdays 
They stay sequestered in my heart
I need to begin a brand new life 
And today I plan to start .
