I'LL BE WITH YOU TONIGHT

I'LL BE WITH YOU TONIGHT

A Poem by DONALD EISSLER

ANOTHER KLEENEX POEM FROM A TARNISHED KNIGHT ONCE YOU READ IT YOU WILL UNDERSTAND

"

I'll Be With You Tonight

On this Lonely keyboard
I am typing lonely words
Remembering voices and visions,
That once I saw and  heard.

The first words of my childen,
The love of their mother too,

Seem to echo in my mind
As I sit here and write to you.

Funny how the memories
Of such a distant past
Seem to always haunt me.
Damn, time has gone so fast!

Was it not so long ago
We were young and full of life?
I even remember that moment
When I asked you to be my wife.

All you did was nod your head,
So excited you could not speak.
Didn't know what to think
As tears ran down your cheek.

We were married on an autumn day,
Trees with leaves of red and brown.
The luster from their colors
Enhanced your beauty in that gown.

The years have past so quickly,
Our children have all grown.
Our grandchildren on my knee,
But with them I play alone.

Know you're here in spirit,
Can feel you close by me.
I show the kids your picture,
Tell them how things used to be.

All I have are memories now
Of your smile and your kiss.
I really never knew how much
Your loving I would miss.

Days on this lonely keyboard
Typing words from a lonely heart.

I know I'll be with you soon

Then we shall never part.

I set this keyboard down

For now I see the LIGHT.

Your hand I feel upon my head.

I know I'll be with you tonight.

THE TARNISHED KNIGHT

Awh. The lost of your love. But the memories you keep, telling story's to your grand kids so they will remember that beautiful woman you got to call your wife, even to this day your love is still true and you cannot forget just how much you loved her. This is beautiful. Love and memories. x3 Much love for this.
