The Wall

The Wall

A Poem by Abigale LeCavalier

The Wall

I never had a chance,

left in the bucket

of a driveway

in the suburbs.

Looking west

through blue ocean

eyes,

telling secrets

to the bugs

in my body.

I can not digest

the reality

of every day.

And I want to be

taken away.

But there is no movement

in the moment,

bottled up

with fear;

the anxiety

that tomorrow brings

another day.

And I’ll have to

live this life

again.
