Robots on The Dating Game (TV)

A Story by Abishai100
"

Two Cybertronian A.I. robots travel to Earth and disguise themselves as human males in America to appear on a dating game-show to learn about human daydreams.

"
Here's one last post-retirement vignette, and it's a sardonic parable referencing the iconic game-show The Dating Game (ABC TV) and two Transformers (Hasbro) avatars, Cyclonus and Agus. This vignette was inspired by the democratic film Robots. Thanks for reading,

Cyclonus and Agus were opposite robots on the A.I. planet of Cybertron. Cyclonus was a weaponized street-fighter who transformed mechanically into a jet-fighter. Agus was a laser-shooting assassin who doubled as a headmaster space-pilot while being able to transform mechanically into a tank. Cyclonus was a Machiavellian thinker, while Agus was a Republican thinker with democratic arrows. Cyclonus, a Decepticon robot, thought much about socialism, while Agus, an Autobot robot, thought much about anarchy as it related to democracy. The two Cybertronian A.I. robots decided to travel to the Milky Way Galaxy and spy on human civilization from Eath's moon as a robot-duo ironically working together for the very first time.

Cyclonus and Agus noticed that America was the world's Big Brother in the 20th Century when it came to politics, fashion, military, science, and the arts. Cyclonus and Agus noted that Americans were big fans of TV game-shows which celebrated pedestrian contestants competing for prizes in front of a national TV audience and studio crowd. The two Cybertronian A.I. robots began watching episodes of the popular dating-show The Dating Game (ABC) using their special radar-spy beams from Earth's moon. Cyclonus and Agus noted that The Dating Game, a televised game-show in which multiple American male contestants determined who'd be the ideal long-term courtesan for a designated attractive female date or lover by answering questions of a social nature without having knowledge of the female date determining who was supplying the answers. This game-show obviously represented human daydreams on Earth and in America.

Cyclonus and Agus decided to appear on two separate episodes of The Dating Game after using a shape-shifting device on their hidden landed shuttle on the moon to transform themselves into dashing American males. Cyclonus appeared on one episode, while Agus appeared on the next one. The two Cybertronian A.I. robots were competing for the hand of two female designated dates on The Dating Game, respectively, a Raiders (NFL) cheerleader named Sandy and an Aeroflot (airline) stewardess named Cindy. Cyclonus mentioned on the game-show that he thought Sandy was appealing because she seemed to appreciate his flair for having a thrilling and fun date prior to a night of intimacy. Agus mentioned on his episode of the game-show that he thought Cindy the stewardess was appealing because she seemed to like his interests in democratic capitalism and finding the right store to shop in to find her a charming gift. Cyclonus and Agus were now both in love, but neither Sandy nor Cindy (who both accepted the two camouflaged robots' courtship offers!) knew they were courting robots from Cybertron!

After courting a one-year intimate relationship with Sandy and Cindy using birth-control and contraceptives to avoid complicated pregnancy, Cyclonus and Agus decided to transform back into Cybertronian robots and flew back to their home planet in a galaxy far far away. When Cyclonus and Agus returned to Cybertron, they were interrogated by the master-control giant megamind robot Unicron who demanded to know what they learned about human civilization during their one year awarded special sabbatical for Earth research. Cyclonus and Agus were very intimidated by the gargantuan robot Unicron but were prepared to answer his questions for him now that they were home.

UNICRON: So, what the hell did you two boys learn on Earth?
CYCLONUS/AGUS: We learned about human courtship customs.

UNICRON: I understand you appeared on some network game!
CYCLONUS/AGUS: We were contestants on the televised The Dating Game.

UNICRON: Did you camouflage yourselves as human males then?
CYCLONUS/AGUS: We certainly did!

UNICRON: Who did you court on this dating game-show?
CYCLONUS/AGUS: We courted two lovely women, Sandy and Cindy.

UNICRON: Who are they?
CYCLONUS/AGUS: Sandy is an American cheerleader, and Cindy a stewardess!

UNICRON: You courted a one-year relationship with these two women as human males?
CYCLONUS/AGUS: We certainly did!

UNICRON: So, what the hell did you learn about humanity then?
CYCLONUS/AGUS: We learned about the irony of networks and personal customs.

UNICRON: Elucidate now!
CYCLONUS/AGUS: We learned that social expectations among humans are linked to tradition.

UNICRON: What 'tradition' did The Dating Game celebrate?
CYCLONUS/AGUS: It celebrated the notion of awarded social courage and communication!

UNICRON: So humans prefer openness about personal behaviors and televise them.
CYCLONUS/AGUS: Indeed, sir!

UNICRON: Well, congratulations; write a book about civilization diligence.
CYCLONUS/AGUS: As you wish, mighty dictator.
