Two defiant 'classic' knights stand against the Medieval Red Horde, in a cataclysmic Earth-stand reflecting human darkness.

An homage to the war-dioramic dystopian but ancient-world war themed fantasy-film Immortals, a fanfiction of 'diamond' proportions. Enjoy!

On the outskirts of a dark Medieval empire stood an almost invincible dark armored army called the Red Horde, led by a handful of ruthless profiteering warlords who'd formed an oligarchy designed to create the ultimate pirate dominion on Earth, marked by savagery, pillaging, conquest, domination, and unquestioned wrath! The Red Horde was composed of at least 10,000 minions, armored 'knights' of hell, and they wielded terrible weapons like knife-posted spears and spiked balls and throwing axes and broad-swords. Their forces also boasted flanks of drones who're considered rather capable sword-fighters. The Red Horde was not to be challenged by anyone, and it seemed to the poor oppressed people of the lands in Europe that no one or nothing would or could stop this tide of ultimate planetary drama.

However, two unusual knights rose to this daunting and fabled challenge. These two knights were Mordred and Lancelot, however they're not to be confused with the Mordred/Lancelot axis and polarity forces from Arthur's Camelot (Mordred was Arthur's rival, while Lancelot was his displaced somewhat loyal knight!). No, this Mordred/Lancelot pair was something else entirely. They'd trained since youth together as step-brothers on how to fight with classic weapons, mostly standard silver thin swords and gold spears. Mordred and Lancelot were 'drafted' by a local wizard in Europe who sought to create some kind of challenging force to oppose the Red Horde, and these two 'classic' knights is what the wizard found and resourced. The wizard also supplied them with a rather strong and willing drafted European army of local knights, with Mordred/Lancelot to serve as their supreme general-commanders in this newly envisioned Great War against the Red Horde.

"This is not a battle to be missed, friends. That's why I relate this great fable to you now. It's been generations since the Great War against the Red Horde took place on Earth (in Europe!). I've fortunately lived to tell this great tale. However, most of the participants in that Great War are now long-dead. It was really a Great War. The two forces were aligned to create the ultimate 'species civil war' drama, between the Red Horde and the knighted forces of Mordred/Lancelot, the great challengers of the status quo. Mordred/Lancelot marched their great armies through the dark and grey lands of conquered Europe with their special recruited knight-force army and stood against the tides of the Red Horde which met them at various stages of their march across the great and dramatic land. Each phase of the Great War saw great casualties, resurrections, ingenuity, tradition, machinery, courage, fury, humility, and depression!"

MORDRED: That account is rather rich and bold and very elegiac/elegant. However, the gist/brunt of that Great War lay in the details of the actual fighting. The minions of the Red Horde relentlessly attacked the knight-force army of Mordred/Lancelot, while the two shocking upstarts (like me!) managed to stage various levels of retaliatory encircling forms of field engagements, sending continuous waves of inside-attack lines and perimeter-archery and sword jabbing nets to seek to confound the awful Red Horde into a complete state of miniaturization! This was a staged multi-level phased war of attrition as well as description, and the Red Horde ultimately conceded defeat as the defiant knight-force army of Mordred/Lancelot proved too much to be a kind of inventive Earth wave of armored advancing dragons-of-diagonals.
