==== Amlan is descended from Indian freedom-fighters from the Independence movement against the British Empire and is currently studying terrorism-financing in Europe at Brown (Rhode Island). ![]() AMLAN: I consider myself the ultimate 'nerdist' of modern Euro-capitalism politics and anti-terrorism folklore. ![]() Amlan received much personal inspiration growing up and reading about the Quit India Movement in Asia against British rule and the mighty colonial British Empire of the 20th Century and how his ancestors had been part of generations of resistance against anti-democratic rule in the UK/Parliament. ![]() AMLAN: I'm currently studying how blood-diamonds are funding rogue terrorists in Europe and the Middle East. ![]() Amlan likes collecting vintage war-toys and toy-guns that capture our modernism fascination with the sheer aesthetics of violence and fighting, and he's writing a book titled Becoming Graphic. ![]() After reading a searing book about the Irish troubles in the modern UK following the initial independence of Ireland from British rule (in the early 20th Century), Amlan became acutely intrigued by the notion that Catholic-Protestant rifts in partitioned Northern Ireland created neglected strains between two dominant Christian faiths, overshadowed by Israel-Palestine politics in North America, and wondered how he'd play a role as a sympathetic democrat. ![]() Amlan became a member of a North American Belfast (Northern Ireland) sympathetic fundraising group seeking improved relations between the British Protestant majority in Northern Ireland and the Irish Catholic minority. This group, NORAID, encouraged Amlan to go seek more stimulation/education/resources in Belfast, so Amlan hopped on an Aer Lingus flight from JFK to Dublin and then took a short-train to Belfast! Thus began his 'passport' adventure in Belfast. ![]() AMLAN: I've read much of English history at the Ivy League and am a fan of Shakespeare; Protestant-Catholic rift is deep. ![]() Amlan met a NORAID representative/associate in Belfast named Samuel who introduced him to the street-folklore behind generations of Irish resistance against British Protestant rule in Northern Ireland and all of Ireland. The richness of the story had generated much imagery and even comic book strips in Belfast. Amlan realized this was as deep and rich as the India independence movement he'd learned about from his family-relatives who're involved in the Quit India Movement and the strange parallels to the Irish troubles in Northern Ireland and UK. ![]() AMLAN: Through some street contacts and educational gifts, I've become a 'citizen-transit' member of an Irish guerrilla unit! ![]() Now, Amlan had served as a chair-seer of a Model-UN conference at Brown about Irish politics in recent times, following partition of Northern Ireland, and he'd learned much about Western interests in Catholic-Protestant troubles and was himself drawn into the academic subject, since he'd converted to Catholicism from Hinduism himself, but at that event at Brown, he's merely an interested professorial chaperone in America! ![]() AMLAN: I'll have to work in-and-out of this hellish labyrinth in Belfast like James Bond (OO7) himself! ![]() Amlan fashioned himself several theatrical street-performance costumes which he'd use to create pedestrian drama-shows depicting himself as an Asian Catholic convert who's deeply disturbed by the rifts between Catholics and Protestants in Northern Ireland! ![]() Meanwhile, his NORAID associates/ties informed him that all was not well in paradise (America), since the group had received journalistic critiques regarding their financial sympathies towards Sinn Fein and the IRA in Northern Ireland, but Amlan was now mired in too deep into the issue to turn back now. ![]() Amlan started a relationship with a female IRA guerrilla named Shelbye and together formed a adjunct secret-unit with her called the Foreign IRA (F-IRA), which would serve as a sub-group to P-IRA (Provisional Irish Republican Army) in Belfast (Northern Ireland). ![]() AMLAN: I'll work as a lone guerrilla with my costume-street theater while moving into police/institutions with tactics. SHELBYE: I'll make distractions as a lone female crusader to draw media attention away from you! ![]() Amlan started carrying out strange heists from stores owned by British Protestants in Belfast. He'd perform his costume street-shows in front of happy paying passerby and then run into the stores behind him in alternate masks and wielding toy guns filled with corrosive acid, capable of burning through any store-safe-box and removing valuables. He'd then sell the valuables in the underground, while Shelbye performed street-fireworks and sent anonymous messages to Belfast Magazine like, "Inflation among merchants in Belfast is high, simply because Catholics and Protestants aren't trading!" ![]() Amlan and Shelby's F-IRA duet became quite the rave among the members of standard or P-IRA. These normal guerrilla were busy targeting passing police-barracks vehicles operated by British drones stationed in Northern Ireland to quell modern protests regarding strained economic/employment opportunities endured by the Irish Catholic minority because of misappropriated resources by the British Protestant majority-controlled are and Parliament! ![]() Amlan became known as the 'Snake-Eyes' member of the F-IRA (Foreign IRA). This was the first time really that a non-Irishman/woman was part of a formal/underground Irish guerrilla movement in Northern Ireland. ![]() Amlan next planned an elaborate Irish street-show right outside the lot by the major British police-barracks in Northern Ireland, and he hid a smuggled Beretta in his guitar-case. ![]() His show gained some interest and the music was playful and rather loud, and then he knocked on the door of the barracks and requested to use the bathroom/lavatory, and since he was in mask/costume from his street-show, the guardsman requested to search him which is when Amlan yanked out his Beretta and took the guardsman hostage at head-point and ordered him to march him into the computer-room from which Amlan extracted years of prison-data regarding unemployed Irish Catholics serving time in the jails of Northern Ireland. ![]() Shelbye meanwhile set a parked/empty passenger bus in Belfast on fire and sent the note to Belfast Magazine which read, "This was not performed by an unemployed Catholic Irishman destined to serve time in jail rather than at a UK post-office." ![]() SHELBYE: I made you this Irish Citizen Army passport member-card, my love. AMLAN: What's it for, Shelbye? SHELBYE: To remind you that you'll never be a 'foreigner' to me. AMLAN: Very cool. ![]() When Amlan returned to Brown, he began writing editorials and comic strips and shorts about the comparisons/parallels between the Quit India Movement and the inception of the 'F-IRA' (Foreign IRA) in modern Belfast (Northern Ireland). ![]() AMLAN: My hope is that this dastardly infiltration work on behalf of Belfast will generate media-interest in UK politics. ![]() That Christmas, Amlan and NORAID had hundreds of Springer Autobot model-robot toys shipped to youngsters (Catholics and Protestants!) in Belfast. ![]() AMLAN: My dear Shelbye; I've sent a friend to gift you a special diamond from Newcastle; to remind you of one mission! ![]() Shelbye got married and would have a daughter (Loreena) who'd grow up to write of her mother's incredible and somewhat romantic mission/adventure with her short-lived but long-aimed 'F-IRA' (Foreign IRA) endeavor with the professor-like Amlan from Brown/USA. ![]() SHELBYE: I just miss cooking some delicious Irish food for Amlan. ![]() AMLAN'S DIARY: The Irish question goes to deep rifts within the global Christian church, and it's a cause worthy of dowries. ==== "Money is everything" (Ecclesiastes) © 2021 Abishai100 |
