Belfast (Northern Ireland) and Dublin (Ireland) are both hospitable to Irish Catholics, but Belfast is where only a minority group of Irish Catholics live today, alongside a British Protestant majority. Belfast-Dublin used to be a united bridge in mainland Catholic Ireland but was separated after the partition following independence of Ireland (Dublin) from the British Empire in the early 20th Century when Belfast (Northern Ireland) remained part of British-Protestant control. This Belfast-Dublin Catholic duality today represents a special Rapture for American Catholics studying the demographics of Catholic migrations.
