"
An anti-terrorism story of 'psychiatric' proportions, inspired by the amazing modern dystopian film A Cure for Wellness...in honor of the upcoming 20th Anniversary of 9/11. Thanks for reading (signing off),

Amlan Satan is a blood-diamond infiltration-agent with Interpol-relations intercepting violence-financing gems from the African underground. He worked in the UK to cease blood-diamond smuggling into Northern Ireland which was funding ex-IRA terrorists from creating independent forms of violence leading to frustrated British police-military retaliatory brute-force. This traumatic educational experience in the UK made Amlan Satan (code-name: Storm-Shadow) insane, and he had to quit his work and checked into Arkham Asylum, the center for the psychologically disabled.

Now, Satan (Amlan) is half-Algerian and half-Indian and grew up inspired by the political revolutionary literature involving Algerian independence from French colonial rule and India's independence from British rule. When he became involved with IRA and Sinn Fein blood-diamond work with Interpol-relations in the UK, he remembered these jarring parallels in political aesthetics and danger-consciousness!

In the insane-asylum (Arkham), Amlan Satan believes he's some kind of diamond pirate, a real pirate descended from real pirates from the old-sea and calls himself Scruffs and insists he was on the way to 'curing' the problems with Sinn Fein and IRA and British Parliament in the UK and easing Catholic-Protestant strife in Belfast created by socioeconomic problems. As the self-deluded pirate 'Scruffs' in the insane-asylum Arkham, Amlan thinks he's wandering around daydreaming about how piracy-espionage can cure the malady of Catholic-Protestant violence!

AMLAN ('Scruffs'): Inside Arkham Asylum, I can entreat my real feelings of political courage as I work with sense of wonders!

AMLAN ('Scruffs'): They let me have Irish political comic books and Commando War Comics from England mailed to me.

He's been collecting all kinds of images/comics/manga about political imagination and creative governance, ranging from Dael Omagh Brigade (Cork Comics) and Robotech (Comico), offering him storytelling ideas about self-wrought democratic Utopian visions. He finds this all very romantic and comforting, forgetting about the traumas of the reality behind real Catholic-Protestant rifts in the modern United Kingdom.

Amlan converted to Catholicism while in Arkham and takes regular psychiatric medicine (mostly Klonopin, Lexapro, and sometimes Lithium). He considers this rehabilitation his course towards a real sense of sociopolitical grounding which will help him put behind him the past horrors of Belfast bedlam.

AMLAN ('Scruffs'): I now imagine myself as the masked pirate Scruffs in a vigilante crusade as the night-prowling Batman!

Inside Arkham, Amlan Satan's doctors provide him with the right kind of inspiration democratic-artworks, such as paintings of 9/11 in NYC, when anti-Western terrorists destroyed the World Trade Center by crashing commercial passenger airplanes hijacked! This sort of 'imagery-therapy' is vital to Amlan's sense of political imagination grounding, so he 'visualizes' how to create his own constructed world of governance sanity curiosity.

AMLAN ('Scruffs'): The artworks of the Easter Rising in Ireland they gave me are quite beautiful and remind me of India.

His ex-wife Elena from Algeria divorced him when she discovered he had to check into Arkham Asylum, and now she's an exotic belly-dancer somewhere in Casablanca (Morocco).

AMLAN ('Scruffs'): They've even given me photo-news articles of the violence between Irish guerrillas and British police.

His lawyer Elka Sommer of Boston Legal studied some psychology in the Ivy League and consults for Amlan, his special personal client, for legal counseling regarding his strange mental and sociological crossover between his family-heritage background/connection to Indian/Algerian revolution movements and his current fascination with Irish-Catholic troubles in Belfast (Northern Ireland). In regular legal sessions in Arkham's connected court-trial center room, Sommer tells the judge on behalf of her best client Satan (Amlan) that he suffers from a sort of 'Utopian-delusionism' which compels him to imagine himself as a 'daydreaming vigilante' named Scruffs or sometimes Batman as he works out his traumatic past working with blood-diamond violence-funding infiltration work with Interpol-relations. She argues for his continuing rehabilitation at Arkham, taking Klonopin/Lithium, and easing out his wonder about the realism behind modern inter-religious hellfire (Catholic-Protestant violence in the United Kingdom).

ELKA: He's a Catholic-convert and pays particular attention to developments in Catholic-Protestant divisions, in Belfast.

As the Interpol-relations blood-diamond infiltration agent named Storm-Shadow, Satan (Amlan) was considered a real-life James Bond, but in Arkham Asylum, under Ms. Elka Sommer's care, Amlan's simply a man reworking his past with inter-religious hellfire and forgetting about things like Bloody Sunday and 9/11, things which have made his sense of Utopian imagination jagged. He's putting behind him now his work as a ninja-guerrilla intelligence officer.

ELKA: The world will miss Storm-Shadow, but here in safe Arkham, he can take simple comforts in good Irish soup and care.

When Elka visits her local favorite Irish pub/restaurant PJ Whelihan's in Boston, she talks to her friends and coworkers from Boston Legal about the strange and sad case of Amlan Satan ('Storm-Shadow').

ELKA: He really seems to get incredible inspiration from fantastic artworks about Catholic-Protestant healing.

ELKA: In Arkham, they let him keep scrapbooks of his art from India/Algeria and his own stick-figure doodles, which help him.

BOSTON LEGAL: Amlan Satan is one of our most distinguished clients, and Elka Sommer is the perfect diplomat for the case.

In one particular Arkham court-hearing, Elka stormed against the female rival prosecutor in the trial, arguing against this woman's persuasive claims that Amlan ('Scruffs/Batman') is simply a 'self-constructed' man of dangerous delusions.

ELKA: In this world of Bloody Sunday and 9/11 violence, we might think of Amlan Satan as a man healing scars with toys!

Elka won the argument and is still considered the ideal representative for Boston Legal in this unusual Arkham case involving ex-intelligence officer Amlan Satan ('Storm-Shadow').

AMLAN ('Scruffs'): They destroyed the World Trade Center, but this Catholic-Protestant hell won't lead to the destruction of London Bridge, because there's just too much artistic/spiritual inspiration now behind modern inter-religious creative-thinking and groups in North America invest in political advocacy for inter-religious coops in the United Kingdom today...and perhaps forever.

ELKA: His doctors allow him to keep indulging his peculiar fascination with comic book and manga-art.

They even let him make his own color-pencil doodle-drawings capturing his fascination with self-wrought courage.

ELKA: I particularly like his two doodles of 'Evil Elf' and Batman/Talia, drawings of self-wrought independent daydreams.

His Batman/Talia doodle represents his apparent vision that his doctor and lawyer Elka have given him a sort of personal 'valor-care' regarding his traumatic memories from Belfast (Northern Ireland) work with anti-terrorism.

AMLAN ('Scruffs'): Ms. Sommer arranged issues of Belfast Magazine to be mailed to me at Arkham for my Sunday reads!

"When we take Arkham bus-trips to the Catholic church, I pray for the developments in peace regarding the new organization in the United Kingdom and North America known as the 'Foreign Irish Republican Army'" (Scruffs/Satan).

ELKA: I think we'll have Amlan watch videos of British Parliament proceedings regarding new Belfast reforms for education.

The catalyst for much of this change is the growing support for republicanism (Gerry Adams of Sinn Fein).

AMLAN: I had a dream one night I was Batman and Elka was my lawyer, but the judge and jury were villainous terrorists.

Amlan's doctor talks to him about how Ms. Elka Sommer, his personal lawyer, has sort of become a 'superheroine' to him, so he can liken her to the DC Comics character Black Canary.

ELKA: One night in Arkham, they'll show the Belfast-and-NORAID politics-film The Devil's Own...on Amlan's b-day!

AMLAN ('Scruffs'): Another night, I had a dream I utilized this vigilance-therapy to fight a terrorist as the hero Batman!

ELKA/DOCTOR: We believe Amlan Satan is the perfect case of political-life gone mad and turned into real magic therapy!
