The CrowA Story by Abishai100A complicated modernism love-story touches this portrait of an Ivy League couple challenged by civilization-diamonds.
An unusual civilization love-story borne from the resilience of spirit if also the tribulation of real detention. Inspired by Ethan Frome.

==== The city was salvaged from a dark time of great ambition-centric warlords, crimelords, druglords, and tyrants, a miracle created by the simple advent of commerce-bridged social networks (e.g., Euronext). This media-driven privacy oriented form of spiritual peace-networking came to near-fruition in the 20th-anniversary year of 9/11, when anti-American terrorists destroyed the commerce-symbolic World Trade Center in NYC. ![]() A Dartmouth capitalism-professor and blood-diamond infiltration intelligence-man named Amlan Satan (code-name: Storm-Shadow) has been studying/working with terrorism-finance subversion since threats to diplomatic groups in the 'overground' such as Sinn Fein and British Parliament (who seek inter-religious commerce-bridges to peace between Catholics and Protestants) would devastate Northern Ireland peace-treaties regarding fortune and lifestyle. Satan is considered a very wise and young James Bond like American intelligence-man, working in the Ivy League, and inspired by Irish works such as the iconic Dubliners (James Joyce). While reading Dubliners in a Dartmouth cafe, he met the gorgeous Irish-Catholic literature professor Shelbye O'Meara with whom he fell deeply in love and married just one year later, and they made the Joyce novel (Dubliners) a sort of metaphysical/religious 'diadem' signifying the strength/fancy of their special emotional bond in modern civilization. ![]() AMLAN: You mean the world to me, O'Meara. SHELBYE: I'll take your surname someday, good hubby! AMLAN: We're an odd Ivy League pair, eh? SHELBYE: We don't have to 'swim' in the emotions of love's fruition. AMLAN: Why'd such a thing be simple in this time of great complications? SHELBYE: Yeah, there's little dancing in a time of terrorism romance! AMLAN: You just can't have wine and roses while talking fancy about blood and money! SHELBYE: Well, let's say we're a romance born from the 'convenience' of intellectual fortunes. AMLAN: That's what we are, O'Meara. SHELBYE: I shall call you the Crow, a man of colored flight in a dark time, flying to my heart. AMLAN: This is a pleasant fiction, isn't it? SHELBYE: We make good love, Satan. AMLAN: I'll ensure such amenity-conversation for ya, O'Meara. ![]() What Amlan and Shelbye had was a sort of American-born self-visualized daylight in a world that was made weary by the realism of great Tribulations such as the 'Troubles' in Northern Ireland and the Coronavirus in India. Amlan was half-Algerian and half-Indian with family-heritage relations linked to anti-colonial movements against France and England. He found ideological parallels to the Irish struggle against British Protestant policies in the modern United Kingdom and therefore found great intellectual likeableness to his Irish-Catholic wife Shelbye O'Meara who ironically hailed from Belfast (Northern Ireland). This was a conversation-built modern love-story about the emerged if humbled or quieted love of human conveniences and comforts wrought from the post-Tribulation 'madness' of endured ambition and plagues. That's why Shelbye'd always consider Amlan Satan ('Storm-Shadow') her special 'Crow' (or raven-doll) of civilization-diarism. ==== "Money is everything" (Ecclesiastes) © 2021 Abishai100 |
