A small-town Colorado vignette about discovering human passion in conditions of great American...darkness!

In a small-town in snowy Colorado (USA), a new high-school transfer, Amlan Satan, was considered a high-quality basketball recruit and was excited to lead his team to a state-title, bringing the snowy small-town a sudden sense of exhilaration!

SATAN (Amlan): I like this school, and I love snowy Colorado so I think we could bring a real sense of energy here now!

Amlan Satan's considered a very good point-guard and is expected to lead his snowy Colorado high-school team to a real state title and for the first time. The coach tells everyone, "This guy is going to take us all the way, so everyone gather around him to make this season a real one for a trophy."

However, as the season began, Amlan had trouble adjusting to the new Colorado small-town environment, and to add to it, he's feeling obsessive over a very popular and attractive American high-school female student named Shelbye, and he wonders if he can reach out to her, impress her with his mom's home-made stained-glass art, which brings him great pride. However, Shelbye's obviously too into the high-school in-crowd, while Amlan's committed completely to high-school practices, and despite the fact that Shelbye's a Catholic and fan of stained-glass art and the snowy Colorado high-school basketball team's lead cheerleader, she finds Amlan a bit too reserved/conservative, and Amlan begins to wonder if he's part of a new environment which doesn't add enough zing to his sports-life in Colorado!

One night, in his senior-year, while Amlan's driving around in his Saab used-car, he looks up at the moon and prays for a new 'gust' of energy for his Colorado small-town, and to get away from the distractions of romance-disappointment, and suddenly, just suddenly, he found himself transforming (from the 'dark energy' of the full-moonlight itself!) into a werewolf! He had to tell his snowy Colorado high-school basketball team coach, "I'd like to compete now as a wolf-man, coach," and his coach tells him, "We need some real mystic miracle now, Amlan, so go for it."

Amlan as 'wolf-man' takes his snowy Colorado high-school basketball team all the way to the state-championship title game, and he's even won the admiration of the media and the affections of the attractive/popular cheerleader Shelbye, but his mom tells him, "Don't let the 'beast' inside dictate your human sense of wonder...and humility, Mr. Satan." Amlan finds a real sense of repentance and decided to compete in the state-title game as a normal non-wolf human being, disappointing his coach, team, and even cheerleader-gal Shelbye, but he tells everyone, "We can win this without the werewolf, everyone." To everyone's delight, Satan (Amlan) manages a terrific point-guard choreography in the 4th quarter after being sat on the bench through the 3rd quarter because of foul-trouble and average-play, and he leads his snowy Colorado high-school basketball team past the state-rival team, pouring in 20 points and 10 assists in that 'miracle-4th' and brings the trophy to his high-school team in Colorado...as a normal man!

AMLAN: I did it, mom; and without the wolf.
MOM: Life is a diamond, and you found your edge of light, darling.
AMLAN: I lost Shelbye...but hey, we won the trophy for the coach!
MOM: That's what matters to everyone, Amlan.
AMLAN: Thanks, mom...for everything!

This is just a simple 'tall-tale' for this snowy Colorado high-school basketball town which ultimately saw its anticipated glories, and Amlan Satan went on to become a coach for the Seton Hall University basketball-program in New Jersey (USA). He'd always remember this 'mystical experience' as a jolt of real 'human' design.
