Amlan served as the functioning 'landlord' of the fine Boston residential area upper-middle class apartment-building complex in the development section of the Boston residential town (apartment grouping) known as the Rise. He'd finished his college studies in New England, obtaining a major in business, before acquiring investment funds necessary to become a residential project-area executive or 'landlord' and wanted to establish himself as a top-rated New England residential area overseer and financial manager. Amlan had the right sense of mental acumen as well as business-imagination to ensure that this new and future-friendly 'Rise' development-area in Boston (New England) would be well-maintained as well as reflect/symbolize the area's social/community love of high-quality living and networking conveniences such as park tours, WiFi, and complimentary lobby-lounge coffee/biscuit events for breakfast/sunset. The Rise had become quite an 'iconic' area of living for the upper-middle class and aspiring modern 'yuppies' of Boston from all cultural backgrounds.

Amlan thought his performance as the landlord of the Rise was commendable as the development-area saw great social/commercial viability and profits and was featured in a New England journal-piece about the promise of modern Boston-area real-estate/residential-development(s). Amlan himself was cited/mentioned in a new New England Forbes article about the quality/face of 'convenience-driven' living and real-estate fertilization in the Boston area. In other words, he'd established himself as a terrific New England man of real-estate management and was therefore considered a 'diplomat' or bishop of the modern New England living imagination. He was therefore a 'super' landlord. He decided to screen a new list or flock of residential/tenant applications and screen for the best/ideal 'grouping' of New England representative citizens, to create or offer his proud and celebrated Rise apartment-complex as a trophy of modern Boston (American) dollars.

That's precisely what Amlan had achieved as the 'super' landlord of the Rise (Boston) with this new application-residence flock/crop in New England. The Rise was now inhabited by a population of well-to-do artists/professionals, working-people with a great sense of community life, a multicultural-base, and a respect for the aesthetics/ergonomics of networking-driven American dance. The residents were hip, wealthy, young, romantic, conversational, vibrant, interesting, and represented a good cross-section of the American public in New England (Boston)! The Rise was once-again featured in a New England residence-appraisal feature/article about the quality and face of modern pedestrian investments. Amlan decided he'd become a real 'success-story' in the modern annals of American/Bostonian capitalism. He decided he's earned the special right now to look introspectively for peace/retirement and seek a romantic partner (wife) to settle down with, perhaps a lovely young single-woman who moved into the Rise!

This woman was Shelbye O'Meara, an Irish-Catholic stunning redhead who worked at the local newsstand after graduating with-honors from Boston University, seeking a simple/satisfying job that met her bill-payment requirements while she lived mostly off her father's enormous inherited family-estate funds as a modern-day real-life 'princess' of New England. She drank coffee in the lobby while reading Dean Koontz crime-horror novels and enjoyed classical music play in her apartment in the Rise and placed an ad in the Boston confidential claiming she's looking for a marriage-bachelor 'candidate' for steady romance, which is how Amlan found her and began thinking about her, having read her romance-placement ad in the Boston newspaper and noticing she's a Rise 'super' resident. They started dating, and she fell in love with him, found him handsome/ambitious, and confided to him that her uncle was a former guerrilla-terrorist of the Irish Republican Army (P-IRA) in Belfast, responsible for the terrorist-attack on a Parliamentary building in London and wanted to find a 'man' to forget about this 'black-mark' on her American royal family.

Amlan decided Shelbye was simultaneously complex/complicated and sensitively yearning for a live of peace and love as a married Bostonian. She had a certain depth in terms of trauma and a certain intuitive soft-side in terms of conversational openness and found Amlan a good listener/talker and delighted in flowering their passionate love-affair which resulted finally in a marriage-proposition which Shelbye accepted, leading to a wonderful New England fairy-tale wedding. She became his 'princess' Rise resident and he her landlord-and-groom and best friend! This was the type of American residential-experience 'fairy-tale' not unheard of in modern times but certainly representative of a Boston sensitivity regarding the 'odd serendipity' of discovered true dreams. Perhaps this Amlan/Shelbye marriage in the Rise would come to represent an American achievement in the living functionality of real distancing.
