Sleepy Willow: The Dark Earth

A great-adventure is set on Earth, as forces align to defend the home-planet against an invading tick-force.

The old Earth was brooding and wispy and filled with villages scattered around the lands, separated by huge expanses of the oceans, and in this rather 'brooding' Earth, there was danger brewing despite some rather nifty magic and knights and warrior-princesses declaring themselves the 'keepers' of planetary whispers!

This darkened Earth was filled with sunlight and ponds and lakes which were frequented by villages and their children, clothed in rugged gear/hats or costumed as entertaining 'sorceresses' and 'witches' making play in the autumn season for the celebration of Samhain and Daewoo, and this was the tone of the recreational-consciousness of the human race.

The children of this dark Earth portrayed themselves as playful animalia-mutation spirits such as Ewoks (bears) and Wuzzles (hybrids), and they rode on yaks and goat-horses around the strange planet in search of incredible gems/rubies and glass toys. Their parents regarded such 'artistry' as arguable re-presentative of the organic life on the 'blue' planet itself.

Then there was danger in the sky, as an 'alien spacecraft' landed on this darkened Earth and hid in the Grand Canyon and disembarked on a ravenous colonization agenda, determined to subjugate the entire species of humans as its slaves to build giant metal pyramids to worship the forces of sadness!

The aliens were called Red Xenos ('RXs') and were larger-than-man-sized insect-dragonoids with long claw-hands and an elongated head and a long reptilian-tail and spewed acidic/explosive saliva which was reactive upon contact with any external surface/body. These horrific RXs were the epitome of evil, and they spread wildfires and imploded the heads of the knight-soldiers of the human race determined to find an ingenious way to dispel them from Earth.

The RXs wanted to make this darkened Earth a place of great mysteries forgotten and daydreams lost to the fog of helplessness. They'd created a hellmouth out of the concept of invasion, and the forests were scattered in dreams by the fleeing fearing fireflies, once symbols of the planet's woodsy vitality...and mystery!

SORSHA (Human Princess): I'll align myself with the warrior-prince Baldwin of the East to fight these 'red aliens' with genius.

BALDWIN: I accept Sorsha's treaty-of-teamwork and will offer my legionnaires in this ultimate Earth-defense war!

This was the tactic. Sorsha/Baldwin, now helmeted, masked, anonymous, and fierce, arranged their dual force-army renamed the Light-Brigade and scattered and organized around the dense forests of middle-Earth where the RXs made their fortress by their parked spacecraft and lit wildfires near the 'experiment-fires' made by the fierce 'red aliens' with explosive saliva. This was the tone of defense --- deception. The Sorsha/Baldwin distraction-wildfires set by the Light-Brigade fooled the RXs into thinking there was a random/mysterious scourge of 'unnatural' forest-fires, perhaps made by a 'defiant' or 'rogue' member of their own RX-species!

SORSHA: The horrific 'red aliens' have fled from Earth, thinking a mysterious 'magic-force' was dispelling them naturally!
BALDWIN: This will be remembered as an outstanding accomplishment in the annals of sporting forest-trickery...and valor.

Would the RXs ever return to this blue planet? This is doubtful. However, what is certain is that the 'Light-Brigade' that is now legendary will serve as a 'diadem' for humanity, reminding us of the 'innate-value' of the organic richness of life on our great (and distant!) planet Earth.
