American Football: Playoffs (Chapter 1)A Story by Abishai100A new series featuring canonical football sports-fanfiction fables highlighting why the playoffs in America are so...date-worthy!
I've decided to 'abandon' my Chinese-Box story-project for a series of shorts about this exciting American football (NFL) season which has provided us incredible offbeat storybook imagery and ideas/imagination, so this completely new series of shorts (which I'll offer up every weekend time!) is inspired however once more (and still!) by the iconic American sports-media 'deed' film Jerry Maguire (Tom Cruise), and I hope you enjoy it! Thanks for all your readership (and commentary!),
---- ---- ==== The Brady-Buccaneers were eyeing the Super Bowl title once more in the exciting 2021-2022 season which had included underdogs, heavyweights, dark-horses, and injury-driven watershed shifts in predictions. The Goliath-like American football QB Tom Brady had already marshaled the New England Patriots to multiple Super Bowl titles and had faced only the Philadelphia Eagles for a 'storyline' about pro-sports sentimentalism in American folklore. The defiant Eagles had managed to capture multiple trips to the NFC Championship games in the new millennium, and they'd faced the Buccaneers in the 2002 season and finally reached the Super Bowl in the 2004-2005 season in which they lost to the dominant Brady-Patriots 24-21 but avenged this loss in 2017-2018 season by a score of 41-33. The Eagles had created the only 'romance' story with Goliath Brady and had to face the Brady-Buccaneers in the first round of the 2021-2022 playoffs. The Eagles had challenged/defied the Brady-Bucs in Week 6 by a losing score of 28-22, and many felt they 'had what it took' to down/upset the Brady team in the playoffs. ---- EAGLES COACH: If we down Brady again, with the Bucs this time in the playoffs, this will be a real QB-team rivalry! ---- This is indeed a storybook rivalry for modern American sports-folklore. The Eagles lost to the Brady-Patriots in a Super Bowl by a close score and then avenged their loss with a triumphant 41-33 score in a Super Bowl in a following decade. Would they repeat the daring and storybook-feat in this 2021-2022 playoffs? Many would say, "The Eagles rivalry with Tom Brady (Patriots/Bucs) has become more 'storybook' than the Namath-Colts rivalry of the previous millennium!" This is indeed why American sports (football) invites us to wonder why the media-broadcast era of pro-sports generates that magical dosage of fantastic energy that would remind us why those incredibly gorgeous American football cheerleaders are dressed on 'super' Sunday to offer us that unforgettable sports-dream that serves up the right 'equation' of competition-vitality. If the Eagles can down Tom Brady yet again, no one will say, "Brady doesn't care about those defiant Eagles in America!" ---- ==== "Money is everything" (Ecclesiastes) ---- ![]() © 2022 Abishai100 |
