Tombstone DrywallA Story by Abishai100A masked 'Scarecrow' keeps visiting a New England tombstone of two kids killed in a drunk-driving accident and prays about daybreak.
A very short and offbeat prayer-vignette, inspired by The Sweet Hereafter. Thanks so much for reading,

==== A special children's cemetery in New England featured a very prominent tombstone belonging to a family which had lost two offspring in a terrible drunk-driving accident near a prestigious Ivy League school. However, this unusual short-story isn't about this tombstone exactly but who exactly visits this tombstone in New England regularly and very oddly. See if you can follow along! ![]() The 'visitor' stranger is a masked priest of sorts, a man of vigilance and blogging-vigilantism who goes by the name Scarecrow. This harvest-life paranoia-themed masked 'madman' visits this New England children's cemetery tombstone of the two young drunk-driving accident victims and makes 'notes' and writes poems about the nature of American tragedy and how something so awful could happen to just about anyone on Earth. Those who spot/sight this 'Scarecrow' standing in front of the tragic tombstone begin to wonder if they're witnessing a moment of very unusual American prayer! ![]() SCARECROW: Anyone can die from drunk-driving accidents, but this American tombstone represents real distancing. ==== "Money is everything" (Ecclesiastes) © 2022 Abishai100 |
