School-Street (NJ)

A Story by Abishai100
"

A homeschooling project in NJ/USA creates a 'canvas' for engaged thinking about the tools/kits of modern design.

"
A vignette about the educational theater, inspired loosely by the extraordinary 20th Century American film Teachers (Nick Nolte). Thanks for reading,

Amlan Satan is conducting a homeschooling program for a handful of children, young students, in what he's calling 'School-Street NJ' during the Coronavirus quarantine experience.

He commutes from his small condo in NJ/USA to another larger house in NJ/USA where a number of young students (children) gather for homeschooling activities, and he doesn't bring his students back to this residential condo where he lives.

He drives to the nearby Sturbridge community mansion with his homeschooling supplies to provide his young students (children) tools/games/books and activity-sets to engage their indoor homeschooling educational experience

AMLAN SATAN (Teacher): We sometimes allow our kids to surf the Net and find education-media/images for social design!

He has recruited one other homeschooling teacher for this 'School-Street NJ' mission/project named Darby Parker, and she's a Princeton graduate and has great skills with preparing homeschooling activities for various watercolor/music lessons to stimulate the art-portion of the daily lessons at Sturbridge and sometimes stays with Amlan at his condo-residence at nights.

AMLAN SATAN (Teacher): The Sturbridge 'estate' we hold our homeschooling lessons/classes belongs to one of the parents.

The activity sets and workbooks and art-kits are truly extraordinary and special, and they foster in the young students (children) a developed appreciation of what makes indoor-learning a 'thing' of great convenience, confidence, and color. This is really a modern way to think about 'classic' educational activities, reminiscent of Colonial America arguably!

DARBY PARKER: We've also assigned a special police-security 'force' for patrols in Sturbridge to enhance class-design.

Satan/Parker have also brought multiple modernism-symbolic robot-toys, and these 'artifacts' of civilization instill in the young students (children) a deep appreciation of what makes the media-tech/computer age so indicative of a developed sense of gadget-and-hardware ingenuities!

AMLAN SATAN (Teacher): The vital 'key' to homeschooling is the development of packaged tools/methods for diaries!

DARBY PARKER: We're also enhancing the social-media 'portion' of the class/lessons with society magazine USA imagery!

Is all this 'sweat' worth it in this Coronavirus era of media-driven work-and-play? Perhaps this 'School-Street NJ' mission/project of Satan/Parker may reflect our investments in the tools/toys/designs of civilization totems that reveal our 'shared' understanding/appreciation of socialized distancing...and culture.

DARBY PARKER: If our homeschooling 'ethos' instills messages of engaged creativity and values-driven wisdom, we've won!

"An investment in knowledge pays the best interest" (Ben Franklin).
