Amlan and Ezzy are Transylvanians who emigrate to Dartmouth to forward their academic-works on language arts.

Amlan and Ezzy moved from Romania (Transylvania!) to the United States (New England) and began work at Dartmouth College (Ivy League) as linguistics professors. They'd grown up together in Eastern Europe and become romantically involved with each other as academics/adults before deciding to move together (US) and become citizens/intellectuals in North America. They're both studying the peculiar linguistic patterns/trends of grammar dynamics in times of cultural-shift or historical watershed moments (e.g., Western expansion) and how such 'transformations/mutations' gave rise to micro-culture pidgins/dialects or 'mini-languages' like Ebonics and Beatnik.

Amlan/Ezzy were themselves 'real' gypsies. In other words, they'd embraced the aesthetics/consciousness of that bygone micro-culture of nomadic free-spirited 'liberals' who weren't hippies but free-range spiritual fortune-telling 'mystics' with their own code/sense of nearly self-inventive fashion/ritual and dance and ornament reflective of an intuitively imaginative style of intellectual lyricism. They'd been widely categorized as a micro-culture in places as varied as Transylvania and Bombay. They'd been welcomed by the Ivy League (Dartmouth) for their ingenious expertise in the dominion of linguistics-diaspora and were now 'officially' North American (Western) idealists-intellectuals.

AMLAN: We'll write a book together about the linguistic 'flowery' of democratizing politics.

EZZY: Sounds sentimentalist (and hip!); maybe we can reference ideas about race-demographics.

This was a 'cool' relationship, professional (academic) and personal (courtly). Amlan/Ezzy are gypsy-born and world-raised and now worldly-educational! They're now considering formalizing their fruitful 'relationship' into a gypsy-wedding or official world-marriage in North America. They invited their good friend Katherine Ross and also some celebrities like Shelbye Crowe, Timmy Cruise, and Hugo Boss. They also brought some of their displaced relatives from Eastern Europe to the New England 'affair' which would eventually be covered/re-presented in a special Western 'fanzine' on the Net called Becoming World, featuring storylines from the globalism-themed migration experience. What was certain was that this 'gypsy-wedding' would ideally capture the human 'tale' of moving depression.
